Software development is the most suitable career if you want a job with a promising future. It is a profession that has expanded rapidly recently and will do so in the years to come.

Tirthesh was born in the Pali district of Rajasthan in a Marwari family. He realized his affinity for web development. When he built a PC on his own at a very young age.

He was preparing for CAT after finishing his B.Com in 2019. They diagnosed him with tinnitus - a disorder in which you experience ringing or other noises in your ears. Which affected his preparations and had to give up on his dream.

He then started working as a junior accountant but quickly realized he cannot work like this all his life. After some soul-searching, he discovered a passion for data analytics, which led him to pursue a career in web development.

Tirthesh’s brother-in-law recommended Masai when he was looking for a trustworthy institute. He joined Masai for a full-stack web development course. After successful completion of the course. He joined ApnaKlub as an SDE-1 with a 5x salary of what he was getting as a junior accountant.

Aspiring web developers can benefit from Tirthesh's journey from a B.Com graduate to becoming a software engineer with Masai. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

How did your parents react when you decided to quit your job and join Masai?

I come from a middle-class family. My father is the head of the sales department at a manufacturing plant and my mother is a stay-at-home parent. I expected little or no support from them. But they proved me wrong.

My parents were supportive of my critical decision. My father asked me to be sure about my career path and how it was going to affect my life. This was totally unexpected. I feel very blessed to have such supportive parents.

Joining Masai was a well-thought decision. Because I was confident about the path I was heading towards. Plus, because of the Pay After Placement (PAP), the responsibility of getting me placed with a good package was shared with Masai.

The PAP model of Masai is very beneficial for candidates like Underprivileged students. You may pay for your Masai course by using the Pay After Placement Agreement. PAP at Masai is a contract between students and Masai where you commit to pay a specified amount each month for a maximum of 36 months. Only once you reach an earnings level over a certain threshold do you begin receiving payments. You must make at least the threshold amount before you begin paying Masai for your education fees. However, the best part is that you don't pay anything if you don't receive the desired result.

How does Masai make anyone a software engineer in just thirty weeks?

Apart from a well-designed curriculum. Masai focuses on teaching students how to learn, which is the prime reason behind the making of software engineers in such a short period.

From teaching methods, assignments, projects, and soft-skill sessions, everything at Masai has a professional touch to it. Throughout different units, we learn the core concepts of web development with the help of instructors who are supportive and have the capabilities to teach from basics to advanced levels in the simplest possible ways which makes it interesting.

At Masai, the focus is not just on teaching web development but also on important life skills. That will help students to crack a job and thrive in the corporate environment.

This makes Masai unique and helps students get job-ready in just 30 weeks.

What do you have to say about the student-teacher ratio in Masai?

I have heard many people criticize the large number of students being taught by a single teacher in a class in Masai. In my class, there were 300 students at the beginning. But I never felt that anyone was being left out. The mentors always answered even the simplest queries.

Plus, you have recordings available right after ‌the session. So, you can always refer to anything. There are Instructional Associates to help you 24/7. They help in solving all the doubts and explain everything patiently. So, I do not think the student-teacher ratio is a problem at Masai.

How was the placement process at Masai?

The placement process at Masai was really smooth. Four companies considered me for a job. ApnaKlub selected me as SDE-1 soon after going through all the rounds of interviews. I had to wait for three days to receive the offer letter. That was a scary period. Finally, I received an offer letter, and I was on cloud nine.

My parents were super happy to know that they placed me as a software engineer with more than 5x of the salary that I was getting as a junior accountant. It was unbelievable to my mother. It was a surreal experience.

What do you like best about the Masai?

A thing that really adheres to me is the manner in which Masai runs the program and the teaching staff's approach. Your teachers are aware of when to be rigorous and when to be a bit lenient with the students. Your Masai experience will be perfect since everything is customized.

Students may easily follow the course they lay out for them. I can study the entire course content on my own as well, but I could never do it so quickly or as thoroughly. Daily assignments, for example, let you develop more while fostering a problem-solving mindset. My favorite feature is how methodically you can learn things because of the mechanisms Masai has created.

Where do you see yourself in the next five years?

I want to craft my career in machine learning and artificial intelligence. I have crafted the perfect plan to pursue my passion. All the information about the courses and materials is in my possession. So, I am pretty clear about my ‌plans.
