Akash comes from Jaipur, Rajasthan. A BA graduate, he has seen some tough financial conditions in life. Owing to this, he had already snuffed his interest in software development by the time he finished school.

However, because of a supportive family and a chance encounter on the internet, Akash rekindled his passion for development alongside Masai. Now a Software Engineer with Tracxn, he joins us for a quick chat about his journey and experiences at Masai.

How did you find out about Masai?

I came across Masai school while I was surfing the internet. I have had an interest in coding ever since my school days, but due to my financial conditions, pursuing it was out of reach. Since finishing my graduation, I had been preparing for government exams, however, in Masai, I saw an opportunity to pursue my lost passion.

I started researching the school and came across student testimonials and alumni success stories. That’s what gave me the confidence to go ahead and sign up myself.

What’s your favorite thing about Masai?

The best part has to be an evaluation for me. Every Monday you get the evaluation and the test, and it really gives you a clear perspective on where you stand. How much you've learned, your problem areas, your strengths, etc. become properly defined. So it truly allows you to evaluate yourself.

How was your experience with the fast-paced curriculum?

At the time when I joined Masai, I was in my final year of college, so I could only go for the part-time course. As for my experience with it, I think I got a similar experience to that of a full-time student. The only difference is the pace of the course itself.

How was your construct week experience?

So throughout your course, you learn various things, but just as important is learning how to apply those concepts. If you just learn the topics and don’t know the application, it’d be of no use. That’s what we did in construct week.

The experience teaches you so many skills, information gathering, communication, and critical thinking, all of which you need in your professional life. So it was a great experience.

Tell us about your placement experience

I sat for one other company’s interview process before coming across Tracxn, my current employer. It was a very smooth experience for me. I didn’t have to wait for very long before getting hired and the interview experience was also great.

They asked mostly technical questions, but I was well prepared for that due to my curriculum. Masai had specifically put us through a revision module that focused on the interview process and was very helpful.

Advice to potential students

What I’d say to those thinking about joining Masai is just to jump in. You have some brilliant instructors and a support system that really encourages you. Don’t worry too much about changing your life, just give it your all and you’ll see results. The course duration may seem like a big commitment, but this is the fastest way to upskill yourself, so believe in yourself and jump in.
