From 7k a month to a 6 figure package: Radhika’s Masai story

"At Masai, everything was packed with a well-designed curriculum, it was a full package. I can not point out any flaws in teaching methods, curriculum, or anything else. From the first unit to the placement process, the whole course is flawless."

Radhika went from earning 7k a month to 5 figures, thanks to Masai.
Radhika's alumni story

Just like million others, Radhika aspired to become a civil servant but her financial conditions came in the way of her dreams. Thus, she had to take up a teaching job to support her family. But, soon she realised her technical shortcomings in the field of computer science.

Radhika then took up computer science engineering to gain the necessary technical skills/knowledge. Sadly, 4 years were not enough to equip her with the necessary knowledge and skills and she ended up jobless after appearing for multiple interviews.

Radhika had to upskill herself. She enrolled herself in Masai’s full-stack web development course and walked out with a Software Engineering role at ThinkSys Software Private Limited.

What major difference did you observe between your college and Masai?

I will be brutally honest here. Today, when I look back at my four years at college, I feel like they have been a pure waste of time. I did not learn anything significant. I did not know how to code even after four years. All I learned was just questions and answers that helped me to score decent marks. We were taught just definitions. There was no practical learning. Neither we were taught about problem-solving nor there was any focus on improving our communication skills.

Contrary to that, at Masai, everything was packed with a well-designed curriculum, it was a full package. I can not point out any flaws in teaching methods, curriculum, or anything else. From the first unit to the placement process, the whole course is flawless. At the end of the course, there was this satisfaction that not only did we have a job but we have also learned a lot that will be useful for the rest of our lives.

What skills did you pick up at Masai other than programming?

I was terrible at communicating in English. Throughout my life, I had interacted with people in Hindi, Punjabi, or my local dialect. I was not at all confident about myself. So, when I joined Masai, all of these changed drastically.

During various sessions, we are guided to work on important life skills. We also get to interact in English, with our classmates from different backgrounds. So, all of that polishes our soft skills and prepares us well for the interviews.

What projects did you build during Construct Weeks and how have they helped you?

During Construct Weeks, we built clones of Adidas and Smallcase. We also worked on the backend part of the Smallcase website as a part of these Construct Week.

Working on these projects with my friends has taught me a lot of valuable lessons. It has made me a team player. I can now work in a group and contribute well in a collaborative environment. These projects have also taught us to respect deadlines. We now know the real value of time and how to manage it effectively.

How was your placement experience?

Although there were no college placements, I had appeared for various interviews on my own. The experience from these interviews helped me a great deal in the placement process at Masai.

And, that is why I was able to get the job in the very first interview that I appeared for at Masai. Currently, I work as a Software Engineer at ThinkSys Software Private Limited. Although I was shortlisted for three companies, I appeared for the interview of just ThinkSys only.

Masai’s focus on building the portfolio of its students, while they are at Masai, has helped me to a great extent in getting that dream job.

What is your opinion on Pay After Placement?

There are thousands of students who have the potential and willingness to make it big with their hard work in different domains. All they need is a little push in skill-building. But, that little push comes at a great cost.

That is where Masai’s Pay After Placement (ISA) helps people like me by allowing us to study for months without paying a penny. If it was not for ISA, I would have never been able to uplift myself and my family. I will always be thankful to Masai for the opportunity and ISA.

What is your message to the students at Masai?

Just focus on all the units because each and every unit is equally important. Do not waste your time on useless stuff. Stay disciplined throughout the course and you will have your dream job.
